Explicit garbage collection for Zope
The garbageman does two things:
- Disables automatic garbage collection.
- Installs an event handler that performs explicit garbage collection every 500-odd requests.
The whole thing is an experiment inspired by a post to the Django-Users list. Please give it a try and report your findings with regard to CPU and memory usage. Initial results look quite promising, we think.
The handler writes the number of objects collected and the time it took to the Zope event log.
