by Olha Pelishok last modified 2008-02-05

Xinha - is a powerful WYSIWYG HTML editor component that works in Mozilla based browsers. This Mozilla Firefox extension makes it easy to build the right editor for multiple purposes, from a restricted mini-editor for one database field to a full-fledged website editor.

Xinha editor enables WYSIWYG editing in any HTML text area and text input elements. Xinha allows you to edit the field data in a WYSIWYG editor on any website without coping and pasting to a secondary editor.

To download this WYSIWYG editor visit Firefox-addons.

Usage

After Xinha is opened, you can easily edit the content in a usual WYSIWYG editor, then press Apply button to change the HTML code of the edited page. Xinha allows you to do the principle actions to the text. With the help of this editor a user can:

  • align the selected text,
  • make it bold, italic, underline or strike it through,
  • find and replace some elements,
  • change the text style and size of the letters, but it is not preferable to make  such changes on Plone-based sites. It is more desirable to use different headings for such purposes,
  • create a bulleted, numbered, or definition list,
  • insert a table, an image, a link, etc.
