While the corresponding search in Zope's ZCatalog (and other standard search engines) treat document lists (found in indexes and intermediate results) as sets and combine them with set operations, IncrementalSearch2 treats them as incrementally computed sequences of documents (respectively incrementally looked up for those found in indexes).
