Alexander Limi
Chief Architect, Plone Founder, Vice-President of the Plone Foundation
Alexander is one of the original Plone Founders. His main area of expertise is User Experience and Interaction Design. He is responsible for most of the user interface design of Plone. He also helped pioneer the use of multilingual interfaces in the Zope and Plone worlds and put accessibility on the agenda for open source web frameworks.
Being one of Plone's original founders, he combines the kind of good looks, intelligence, sensitivity, and raw animal magnetism that only come from writing his own biography. Limi is the all-hands person in the Plone project, and is also responsible for keeping the user experience and visual layout consistent and easy to use — as well as herding the cats known as the Plone community.
In 2003, he created the company Plone Solutions, where he is still heavily involved on the owner side and as a board member. He was instrumental in creating the Plone Foundation, a non-profit that protects and promotes Plone, trademarks and intellectual property, and negotiated initial funding with a major industry player.
Alexander is currently on leave to work with User Experience Design for Google in California — but is still on the board of directors of Plone Solutions. Alexander holds a seat on the Plone Foundation board.
